Geneva Global was founded in 1999 by two billionaire investment managers seeking professional philanthropic services similar to those available for traditional investment banking. In 2008, amidst the financial crisis and recession, the owners decided to exit the business. Doug Balfour, the current CEO, bought out the owners and with a small group of staff started a journey to transform a subsidized foundation-like giving vehicle into a profitable business. The firm’s purpose remained to provide Performance Philanthropy: donor-centered giving that is impactful, evidence-based, effective and cost-efficient.
Geneva Global is an architect of social change, leveraging expertise and proven strategies and tools to help clients make the greatest impact; innovation and creativity is fused with dedication to results.
