About The Organization
Established in 2009, the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) is a network of businesses and business associations that have committed themselves to the triple bottom line of People, Planet, and Profit. ASBC members believe that sustainable business is good business, and a sustainable economy is a prosperous and resilient one.
ASBC advocates for legislative and regulatory reform, working to create measurable policy change. The Council’s membership platform enables policymakers and policy experts to engage with passionate leaders within the business community that are advocating for a sustainable economy. ASBC also helps its members engage, is a proactive translator of the evolving policy needs of socially responsible business, and helps its stakeholders navigate media relations.
The organization comprises two separate and complementary entities. The American Sustainable Business Council, a 501(c)(4) organization, advocates for policy change at the federal and state level. The Council spans a growing network of business associations across the United States, which comprises over 250,000 businesses and 325,000 business executives, owners, investors, and others. The American Sustainable Business Institute, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, offers programs that educate and inform the public and policymakers about the benefits of a more sustainable economy, and about policies and practices that can make that economy a reality.
The American Sustainable Business Council has six employees in the Washington, DC office, with remote employees in locations throughout the United States. For more information about ASBC, please visit http://asbcouncil.org/.
