The Ideal Candidate

Humanity United is seeking an innovative Director of Investments who will have extensive knowledge of supply chains and ethical supply chain practices. As an entrepreneurial and collaborative leader, the new Director will bring a deep understanding of the intersection between business and human rights, as well as how to work with and through people to advance the Foundation’s overall strategy in the field of labor practices.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in building strategy with a variety of stakeholders with sometimes competing priorities and perspectives. Success in this position requires outstanding relationship management skills and the ability to manage through influence. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, the Director must thrive in an environment that requires this person to identify key opportunities to leverage relationships, while being able to sell the value proposition of the Foundation’s mission through engagement, education, and resources.

This role requires a strong, proven track record of setting and carrying out strategy and vision around large scale, systemic change. The ideal candidate will also have experience and understanding of the way that market forces and socially responsible investors can incentivize positive social change.

The Director will demonstrate strong analytical skills with an ability to identify and codify key learnings and takeaways to better inform this work moving forward. Through both the execution of grants and contracts, as well as through implementation of strategies to influence labor practices, the Director must understand how to lead and conduct rigorous analysis and outcome evaluation to advance internal learnings.
